As many as 436 convicts undergoing imprisonment in various jails of Himachal Pradesh would get remission in sentence for a period ranging from 15 days to three months on Independence Day tomorrow.
Director General of Police (Prisons) Sumesh Goel said convicts sentenced to more than 10 years would get remission of three months. Those undergoing imprisonment between five and ten years get two months while those serving between three and five years would get 45 days.
Those undergoing imprisonment from one to three years, would get 30 days remission and those less than one year get 15 days for good conduct, the DGP further said.
Goel said out of these convicts, two would walk out of jail and added that instructions have been issued to all the superintendents of police in the state to implement the orders.
