More than 450 amateur players from across the country will take part in the fifth edition of Toyota Karnataka Golf Festival which will be held here from September 12 to 15.
The tournament, to be played at Karnataka Golf Association, will be the largest amateur golf festival in South India, former Asian Games gold medalist Rishi Narain told reporters here.
"It will see top-notch golfing action as the amateurs put their best swing forward for a spot in Indian team to represent the country at World Golfers' Championships to be held at Durban from October 26 to November 2," Narain said.

Five winners from five different handicap categories (0-5, 6-10, 11-15, 16-20 & 21-24) in this tournament will represent India at the World Championships.
"Over 200 amateur golfers from 40 countries will participate over four rounds of competitive golf in four different golf courses in the Kwa Zulu," Narain said.
The World Golfers Championship World final is played over 72 holes, stroke play, with handicap adjustments after each round, giving all a fair and equal opportunity, he said..
With Toyota Kirloskar Motor as the title sponsor, the Toyota Karnataka Golf Festival is powered by Mantri Developers, in association with Infinite Computer Solutions India Private Limited and Royal Orchid Hotels among others.
Recollecting his time at the World Golfers Championships last year, the winner of 2012 Toyota Karnataka Golf Festival, Shamsher Puri said, "Competition was intense, but we had a great time interacting with golfers from across the globe. It was a great honor to be part of the World Championships and I shall always be grateful to the Toyota Karnataka Golf Festival for providing me with the opportunity."
Ace golfer Harmeet Kahlon from Chandigarh will be making a special appearance on behalf of Toyota Kirloskar Motor on September 14 and he will interact, compete and guide over 120 golfers on any one hole of KGA.
The festival will also see celebrities like Syed Kirmani, Charu Sharma, G R Vishwanath and Erapalli Prasanna display their golfing skills.
