The function in Delhi was held at Jawahar Bhavan where 180 vehicles were distributed to selected people, organisers said.
The function was attended by Gandhi's children Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Vadra.
The vehicles are given to selected participants through a formalised selection process.
Last year, 226 people were given the vehicles.
Rajiv Gandhi's birth anniversary was on August 20.
