Despite model code of conduct being in force for the Panchayat polls, the Uttar Pradesh health department has allegedly appointed 47 ANMs, clerks, and class IV employees at Faizabad Hospital here.

The matter came into light today when the 47 new appointees reached Faizabad Hospital to submit their joining reports, a senior official said.

The medical superintendent Arvind Singh present at the spot didn't allow them to join and brought it to the notice of S N Tiwari, Additional Director (AD) Health Department.

Tiwari then reported the matter to Faizabad District Magistrate Anil Dheengra.

Talking to PTI, the DM Dheengra said, "Soon after the matter came to my knowledge, I immediately ordered to raid the office of chief medical officer of Faizabad."

Senior SDM Amit Singh and joint SP Yamuna Prasad conducted the raid, along with AD, the DM said.

"We raided the office of CMO R S Yadav. But didn't find CMO or any records of the appointment," said SDM Singh.

The CMO and all the members of the committee constituted for the appointments are told to be absconding with the documents, he added.

All these appointment were made yesterday in back date, the senior official said.

"I am also conducting an enquiry in this matter, and reported the appointments to the government," the DM Dheengra added.
