A total of 47 projects in Gujarat have been cleared by Environment and Forest (MoEF) ministry this year till July 31, the Lok Sabha was informed today.
At the same time, Gujarat also tops the list with 52 projects, followed by Maharashtra (44) awaiting clearance in the same period, Environment and Forest minister Jayanthi Natarajan said in a written reply to a query in Lok Sabha.
She said as many as 227 projects across the country were cleared by the ministry till July 31 this year, of which 33 projects were in Punjab and 28 in Andhra Pradesh.

330 project proposals are pending with the ministry for environment clearances as on July 31, Natarajan said.
While 639 clearances were given by the ministry in 2012-13, 464 and 494 projects were cleared by the ministry in 2011-12 and 2010-11 respectively.
