48,333 caught travelling without ticket

Ambala Railway Division has recovered Rs 2.50 crore from 48,333 passengers found travelling

without ticket during last one year.

Divisional Railway Manager, Ambala, Dinesh Kumar while giving the details here today, said that the railway had launched a special campaign against the passengers found travelling without tickets.

The DRM said that he had directed the ticket checking staff to take strict action against passengers who travel in reserved compartment without proper reservation.

Kumar said that teams of railway police GRP and RPF had been constituted for it.

He said that the northern railway had decided to start some special trains during the festival seasons like Holi for the convenience of passengers.
