Curtains came down today on the 48-day rejuvenation camp being held near here for 52 temple and forest elephants.
Tamil Nadu Hindu Religious and Chartibable Endowments Minister Sendurapandian gave jaggery and sugarcane to the elephants, which marked the conclusion of the camp and he flagged off the trucks for transporation of the elephants this evening, official sources said.
There were 34 temple and mutt elephants and 18 elephants belonging to the Forest department at two camps - at Thekkampatti along Bhavani river and Nellithurai, respectively, which began on December 19 last.

Transporation of the elephants to their respective places has already started with some pachyderms refusing to enter the trucks, sources said.
