4D film now at Cuttack maritime museum

The State Maritime Museum here added a new feather in its cap today when Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated a 4-dimension SFX theatre inside the complex.

The theatre, first of its kind in the state, has been set up with an estimated cost of Rs 1.85 crore and can accommodate 48 persons per show.

Patnaik expressed hope that the facility would boost tourist inflow to the museum.

While a viewer will have to cough up Rs 60 for a show of an hour, he has to deposit a security amount of Rs 50 for the specialized spectacles to be used inside the theatre. The security amount will be refunded at the end of the show with the return of the spectacle, officials of the theatre said.
 

Children below eight years of age, persons with cardiac problem and pregnant woman will not be allowed in the show as a precautionary measure.

The Maritime museum is one of the major tourist attractions of the city with 10 galleries showcasing maritime glory of erstwhile Kalinga and a sophisticated aquarium having over 60 aquatic species from across the world in their natural habitat.
