The 4th International Yoga Day was celebrated today in Sikkim with the Chief Minister Pawan Kumar Chamling leading hundreds of people in undergoing the physical fitness exercise.
A special yoga camp was held at Paljor stadium where Chamling led hundreds of people comprising old and young to perform various asanas under the guidance of an instructor.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said that yoga was an invaluable gift of India's ancient tradition.
"As we celebrate International Yoga Day, 2018, it is time to remind ourselves that yoga is an invaluable gift of India's ancient tradition. It embodies the unity of mind and body, thought and action, restraint and fulfilment, harmony between man and nature - a holistic approach to health and well-being," he said.
Chamling urged the people to adopt yoga in their daily lives for a healthy mind and body.
