5 absconders arrested in Jammu

Five persons, allegedly involved in different crimes and evading arrest for several years, have been arrested in Poonch, Jammu and Udhampur districts of Jammu and Kashmir, police said today.

Mohammad Yousuf, who was evading arrest for the last 19 years, was arrested from Gursai in Poonch district yesterday, police said.

Sikander Hussain, a wanted criminal absconding since 2005, was arrested during a raid from Bhata Dhurian in the same district, they said, adding that Mohammad Rashid was also arrested from Surankote area of the district.

Acting on a specific information, police arrested Sham Lal, who was evading arrest for the past seven years, from Kanachak area of Jammu, they said.
 

Police also arrested an absconding bovine smuggler, Mohammad Yaqoob, after seven years from Bali Nullah in Udhampur district during the period, they said.
