5 arrested with narcotics worth over Rs 4 cr

"Acting on a tip-off, Special Operations Group of the local police nabbed the five smugglers who were bringing 120 kgs of 'gaanja' (hemp), concealed inside their SUV from Odisha, at Jhusi area on the outskirts of the city," said Mohit Agrawal, Senior Superintendent of Police.

Among those arrested, two were locals while one each was from the neighbouring districts of Mirzapur, Sant Ravidas Nagar and Varanasi.

"A case has been registered against the arrested persons under the Narcotics Act as well as relevant section of the Indian Penal Code," the SSP added.
