: Five policemen, including an ADSP were injured when they were allegedly attacked by fishermen in the backdrop of a rivalry over a fishing dispute.
The incident occurred t Chinnamangodu village at the Tamil Nadu-Andhra Pradesh border, police said.
The simmering issue turned violent today following a clash between the fishermen were some huts and boats were allegedly set on fire, following which a team of police personnel rushed to the spot, they said.
The crowd attacked police with sharp-edged weapons and five of them, including Additional Deputy Superintendent of Police Stalin were injured and admitted to a hospital in Chennai for treatment, police said adding additional forces have been sent to bring the situation under control.
