Five police personnel, including a sub-inspector, have been suspended and a probe has been ordered for allegedly looting cash at the Mahuvan toll plaza in Farah area here, police said.

"SP crime Rajesh Sonkar would probe the incident. Sub Inspector Govind Singh, constables Veerpal singh, Vijai, Yogesh Kumar and Munendra have been suspended," SSP Swapnil Mamgai said.

A police team, led by DySP Nitin Singh had yesterday raided the toll plaza after it received complaints from drivers that the booth was overcharging them, police said.

The police claimed that they were attacked by the employees of the booth, following which an FIR was lodged against manager of the toll plaza, Atul Yadav.

Today, the employees registered a case against the police alleging that five personnel of the force looted cash during the raid.

Mamgai said for "fair inquiry" Singh has also been attached to police office.
