A five day seminar on 'National Security' at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy concluded here today
A total of 44 senior officers from variousservices, including IAS, IRS, IPS, Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Air Force, BSF, Cabinet Secretariat, CISF, CBI, Coast Guard, IB, ITBP, NSG, RPF, SSB, CRPF and nominees of state governments attended the Seminar, an academy release said.
The seminar, inaugurated by P S Raghavan, Convener, National Security Advisory Board on June 25, focused on increasing awareness of the participants on different sources and dimensions of threat to national security, it said.
The Governor of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana E S L Narasimhan, who was the Chief Guest at the valedictory programme,, touched upon many issues affecting the National Security directly or indirectly and "gave a new perspective to the concept of national security", the release added.
