Five persons died and 17 got injured when a truck they were travelling in flipped near Kotra tehsil of Udaipur district today, police said.
The truck loaded with cotton bales coming from Gujarat to Kotra flipped apparently due to overweight and passengers sitting on it got buried after falling from it, said ASI Mohan Lal posted at Udaipur police control room.
He said the injured persons have been taken to nearest hospitals for treatment.
He said police teams have rushed to the site, which falls near the Gujarat border and the deceased are yet to be identified.
