With the arrest of five persons,
police today claimed to have busted a gang of gamblers active in different parts of the district.
Some stake money and playing cards were seized from their possession, police said.
Acting on a tip-off, police conducted raids in a gambling den in Siyan Gate area late last night and arrested all five accused -- identified as Prem Kumar, Rohtash, Vikay Kumar, Pankaj and Pappu. All five are residents of Ghaziabad and aged between 28 and 32 years.
"Police got information that some persons were gambling in Siyani Gate near Pawan Cinema late on Sunday night. A police team was sent there and all five gamblers were held," a police officer said.
Police are interrogating the accused about their accomplices to get some leads about their hideouts, the officer said.
