Five people, including four children, were killed when a tractor-trolley hit their motorcycle in Rajasthan's Dausa district, the police said today.
The incident occurred yesterday when the five people were returning home from a fair, SHO of Lalsot police station Rajinder Kumar said.
Following the incident, the locals and family members of the deceased staged a protest alleging that the police did not take action against the tractor-trolley driver.
BJP MP Kirori Lal Meena, along with officials of the district administration, spoke to the protesters and pacified them by assuring strict action against the driver and police officers if they are found guilty of dereliction of duty.
Later Meena told reporters that financial assistance and a job to the bereaved family members.
The MP said three policemen were suspended for being negligent in handling the case and further action will be taken after senior police officials submit a probe report within 10 days.
