Five persons, including three women, were injured when a tree fell on their asbestos-roofed house in Kaikatti near here today as rains continued to lash the Nilgiris District for the third day.
The tree fell on two houses in Kaikatti, while the inmates were sleeping in the early hours. The injured had been hospitalised, police said.
Traffic was paralysed for more than three hours on Ooty-Mysore Road as a big tree fell across the road at Pykara.
Similarly, a big tree fell across Manjoor Road, resulting in traffic disruption for nearly two hours, they said.
