5 injured in blast in Pak

Five security personnel were injured today when an IED bomb targeting a police vehicle exploded in this Pakistani northwestern city.

The Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted on the roadside detonated when a vehicle carrying security personnels was passing through the Loni Road area in Dikhan district, police said.

As a result, five security personnels, including a captain, were injured. They were later shifted to Combine Military Hospital for treatment.

Police cordoned off the area immediately after the blast and started an investigation into the incident.
