Five persons were injured in clashes between two communities on Eid day in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir, prompting authorities to impose prohibitory orders.

Members of two communities clashed after Eid prayers over a dispute over a piece of land in Gujjar Kothi area of Reasi district this afternoon, police officials said.

In the clashes, five members of a community were injured, they said adding that police rushed to the spot and shifted injured to the district hospital in Reasi.

People belonging to the particular community assembled in the Reasi town near the hospital and shouted slogans demanding action against the culprits.

As tension prevailed, district authorities imposed prohibitory orders in Reasi town and took four people into custody, they said.

Additional police force has been rushed to the town, they said.

Communal clashes had rocked Kishtwar town on last Eid on August 9, in which three people were killed, over 20 others injured and over 150 buildings damaged.
