Five insurgents of two
organisations were arrested by security forces in different districts of Manipur.
A combined team of Bishenpur police commando and Bihar Regiment conducted a search operation at Phoijing area in Bishenpur district, leading to the arrest of a cadre of PREPAK (PRO) from Phoijing Kaboklei Bazar area, state police headquarters release said.
He was identified as H Romesh Singh (41) of Phoijing Awang Leikai suspected to be involved in extortion activities, the release said.
In another operation three KYKL activists were arrested from different places in Imphal West and Bishnupur districts.
The three are H Somen Singh of Moirang Hemam Leikai in Bishenpur district, Sagolsem Abung (31) of Moirang Shribon Leikai from Kwakeithel Heinou Khongnembi area in Imphal west district and H Ibomcha singh (47) of Moirang shribon in Bishnupur district.
Meanwhile, one cadre of KCP(P) was arrested from Yairipok Thambalnu Market area in Imphal east district.
