Five persons, including two women and a minor girl, were killed and 17 others injured in a collision involving a private bus, a lorry and a motorbike here today, police said.
The mishap occurred when the sand laden lorry collided with the private bus coming from the opposite direction after hitting the motorbike, they said.
Raju (30), his wife Saroja (25) and their daughter Dhanalakshmi (4), who were riding on the motorbike, died on the spot.
Kumar (31) and an unidentified woman, both passengers of the bus, also died due to the impact of the collision.
The injured passengers of the bus were admitted to a government hospital, police said.
