5 killed, 2 injured in road accident in Mathura

Five persons, including four pilgrims, were today killed while two were injured when a car in which they were travelling collided with a tanker near village Malhai in Raya area here, police said.

The pilgrims who were on 'Chaurasee Kos Parikrama' were coming from 'Bail Van' after paying obeisance to the goddess Lakshmi, they said adding that the pilgrims were proceeding to Gokul for their onward parikrama.

While three persons died on the spot, two succumbed to injuries onway to hospital, police said.

The deceased, who belonged to Gujarat, are identified as Madhulika (54), Savita (52), Vanita Ben (44) and Atul (42). The fifth person who was killed in the accident was identified as Madhav Chaturvedi (34). He was accompanying them as a local guide, police said.
 

Shruti (18) and Jagriti(32), who also belonged to Gujarat, were injured in the accident, police said.
