Five persons were killed today and 22 others injured when the vehicle carrying them overturned at Goghatpur village, about 70 km from here, police said.
The mishap occurred when a marriage party that had come to Ghagori village from Jhalawar district in Rajasthan, was returning, Machalpur police station Sub-Inspector Mohan Singh Rajput told PTI.
The axle of the bus broke following which the driver lost control and the vehicle overturned. Balaram Dangi (35), Prabhulal Dangi (40) and Radhashyam Dangi (25) - all locals - were killed on the spot, he said.
The Madhya Pradesh police are yet to get names of the two other deceased as they succumbed to their injuries during treatment in Jhalawar, Rajput said.
The injured have been admitted to a hospital in Jhalawar and investigations are underway, the officer added.
