At least five persons were killed while seven sustained severe injuries in an explosion at a fire cracker factory in Chainpura village of this district this evening.
Officials said the number of dead could rise, adding rescue operation was on.
Five bodies were recovered from the factory till late evening while the seven injured were shifted to hospital here, they said.
Locals claimed the fire cracker factory was running illegally and such mishaps had occurred thrice in the past.
Kota district collector, the SP monitored the rescue operation.
Six fire brigades from Kota Municipal Corporation were engaged in dousing the fire.
