Five people, including a one-year-old girl were killed while 11 were injured when an overloaded car fell into a deep gorge near Jachhani curve on Bhuntar Manikaran road in Kullu district today, the police said.
The driver of the car and two children were among injured people admitted to zonal hospital at Kullu.
Four people died on the spot while one person succumbed to his injuries in the hospital, they said, adding the deceased have been identified as Bishan Dass (37), Vidya (40), Uttam Chand (63), Vikramu Devi (16) and Riya (1).
The incident occurred as the driver lost control over the vehicle while negotiating a sharp curve, they said.
The Deputy Commissioner and DSP of Kullu rushed to the spot and later visited the injured people at the hospital.
