Five persons were killed and eight others injured in two separate road accidents in Greater Noida region.
A Canter with eight persons, comprising its driver Sanjay, cleaner Anil, Roop Singh, Ramkesh, his wife Nirupama, and their daughters Vanshika (8), Bhavna (6), and a six-month old daughter, was coming to Noida last night when a truck in front suddenly applied brakes on Noida Expressway near FNG.
The Canter rammed the truck and overturned, killing Sanjay, Roop Singh, Ramkesh and 6 month old baby on the spot, while the others were injured and rushed to hospital, police said, adding, the truck driver Neeraj and helper Harish have been arrested.
In another incident near Yamaha crossing today, one Shashikant was killed and four others Rajan, Luvkush, Sonu and Mohammad Nazim were injured, when the autorickshaw they were travelling in was hit by a truck, police said, adding, the truck driver has been arrested.
