5 killed in separate road mishaps in JK

Five persons were killed in different road mishaps in Jammu, Ramban and Rajouri districts of Jammu and Kashmir, police said today.

Two persons were killed when their SUV skidded off the road and rolled down into a gorge on Jammu-Sringar highway in Ramban district last night, police said, adding, their bodies have been recovered.

In two separate cases of hit and run, two persons were killed when matadors hit them in Jaglanoo area of Rajouri district and Domana belt of Jammu district respectively last evening, they said.

The victims were identified as Shameem Akhtar and Mohmmad Shafi.

One more person, Shahjahan was killed when hit by a vehicle in Rajal area of Rajouri district last night, police said, adding they have registered cases in connection with these accidents.
