Five members of a dacoit gang were today arrested from here and stolen vehicles seized from them, police said.
On a tip off, police arrested the gang members and seized two stolen motor cycles, two country made pistols, iron roads and other sharpedged weapons from their possession.
Moga Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jatinder Singh Khaira said that a police team conducted raid and arrested the accused when they were planning a major strike.
The accused have been identified as Lovepreet Singh, kingpin of the gang, Baljinder Singh, Nikka Singh, Baldev Singh and Sukhraj.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the gang members were responsible for a number of robberies, snatching of tractor trolly, robbing of money and gold ornaments in Moga district, police said.
