5 more test positive of swine flu in WB, 463 affected so far

Five more persons have tested positive for H1N1 virus in West Bengal in the last 24 hours taking the total number of people infected to 463 since January, a senior official of the state health department said today.

The toll remained 24 as there was no report of any death due to the disease in the state, Principal Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, West Bengal, Moloy Dey said.

"Currently, 63 swine flu patients are being treated in different hospitals across the state. 27 of them are in government hospitals, while 36 are being treated in private facilities," Dey said.

In the last 24 hours, 25 people were discharged from hospitals after they completely recovered from swine flu, he said, adding 376 people have recuperated so far.
 

Meanwhile, senior CPI(M) leader Gautam Deb, who was admitted to a city hospital with swine flu last week, was discharged today.
