5 of family among six killed in road accident in UP

An autorickshaw rammed into a stationary truck today, killing six persons, including five members of a family, and injuring eight others here, police said.

The incident took place when the vehicle was going towards Delhi early today near Pepsi factory on National Highway 2 under Chhatta police station area, they said.

Sobaran Singh (40), his younger brother Satish (32), his daughters Anjali (7) and Muskan (6), Satish's son Deepak (9) and one Nikhil (12), all resident of Farrukhabad, were killed in the accident, the police said.

The injured were rushed to district hospital where five were allowed to go home after getting first aid while the condition of the remaining three is stated to be stable, they said.
 

In a separate incident, two persons were killed when a car coming from Noida side collided against a canter going ahead of it on Yamuna Expressway today, the police said.

In the third accident a woman was killed near Narsipuram crossing when her scooter collided with a motorcycle.

The motorcycle rider managed to flee.

She has been identified as Punam (25), a teacher in Amar Nath Vidya Ashram here, the police added.
