5 sentenced to life imprisonment in triple murder case

A court in Bihar's Muzaffarpur district today convicted five persons to life imprisonment and imposed a hefty penalty of Rs. One lakh each and Rs. 10,000 each on two others after finding them guilty in a triple murder case seven years ago.

The Additional District and Sessions (ADJ) - II Narsingh Prasad passed the order convicting the five accused persons to lifer and imposed Rs. One lakh penalty on three of them - Mantu Singh, Ranjit Jha and Siddhinath Parashar - and Rs. 10,000 each on Vijay Kumar Sharma and Gauri Shankar Singh after finding them guilty in the murder case of an FCI contractor Satyendra Dube and two others.
 

According to prosecution, the convicted persons had raided Dube's house in Pankha Toli under Qazi Muhammadpur police station area on December 10, 2006 and fired indiscriminately at four persons, including Dube.

While the FCI contractor and his associates Krishna Kumar and Pankaj Kumar died on the spot, one Manoj Kumar sustained bullet injuries in the incident.

A case was lodged at Qazi Muhammadpur police station against five persons charging with the shootout that claimed lives of three persons and injured another.
