5 women arrested for being involved in various cases of theft

Five women have been arrested for allegedly being involved in several cases of theft in the national capital, the police said today.

A lady had on August 30 lodged a complaint at Raja Garden Metro Police station that her purse containing gold jewellery had been stolen while she was travelling in the a metro train, they said.

Following the complaint, investigation was initiated and the five accused were arrested yesterday from Shadipur flyover near Kathputli Colony, the police said.

They claimed that with these arrests, six cases of pick- pocketing and theft in Delhi Metro have been solved and several stolen items have been recovered.
 

During interrogation, all the five accused have confessed to their involvement in the crimes, the police said.
