50 kg IEDs defused in Odisha

Security forces today defused IEDs weighing 50 kg during an anti-Naxal operation in the Rayagada district of Odisha, a senior official said.

The incident occurred in the early hours when troops of CRPF and state police were out for an operational task in the Tikarhamsa-Seshkal area of the district.

Two Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) weighing 25 kg each, 32 gelatin sticks, as many electric detonators and other bomb making items were recovered from a Naxal hideout, the official said here.

The IEDs were later defused by the paramilitary personnel.
