50 kg silver alloy stolen from BHEL factory

Silver alloy weighing nearly 50 kg was stolen from the factory premises of Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) here on Saturday, unit sources said today.

The silver alloy (a combination of silver with some other metals) weighing nearly 50 kg was stolen from the CRX section of the unit and the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) was in the process of registering an FIR against unidentified persons, spokesperson for BHEL, Vinodanand Jha, said.

The stolen alloy contained 15-20 per cent silver, he claimed.

The silver alloy was meant to be used for soldering purpose in the unit.
