50 pc migrants cast votes in 2nd phase of J&K elections

Nearly 50 per cent Kashmir migrant voters today cast their ballot for the second phase of voting with Jammu registering 58.6 per cent.

In the national capital, out of 48 ballots, 30 people cast their ballot at the make-shift polling booth at Jammu and Kashmir bhavan at Prathviraj Road.

In Jammu region, which has 8,750 votes, 5,128 votes were polled by the end of the day.

However, Udhampur recored a low turnout of 28.17 per cent as only 51 votes were cast at the end of the polling. As many as 181 votes migrant voters were registered from eight assembly seats.
 

Nine assembly seats from the Kashmir Valley went to poll in the second phase out of which migrant voters were resgistered in eight seats.
