Puducherry government today introduced a relief of 50 per cent in power tariff for domestic power consumers in the Union Territory.
An order of the Department of the Industrial Development (Power) saiddomestic consumers consuming upto 100 units per month would be granted 50 per cent relief on actual power consumption charges.
The order would come into immediate effect, it said.
The orderalso stated that beneficiaries availing the relief should pay the current consumption charges on time failing which they would not be eligible for instant relief.
The power tariff relief would belimited only to domestic consumers whose maximum consumption is 100 months a month, it said.
