50-year-old commits suicide, alleges govt apathy

"Mahender Kumar Tokas shot himself with his licensed pistol on his head at his house in Munirka village. He was rushed to AIIMS but he was declared brought dead," a senior official said, adding a suicide note was also found.

In the note, Tokas, who also runs a public welfare trust, allegedly blamed the government for not allowing him to "do noble work".

He is survived by his wife and two sons, who run a property business.
