A 50-year-old mechanic was allegedly murdered and his body chopped off and dumped in a river in Mughalpura area here for "blackmailing" a woman using her "objectionable" video, police said today.

ASP City Ramsuresh Yadav said the 22-year-old accused, Alam Khan, who is brother of the woman, was arrested yesterday for allegedly killing Rais Mansoori.

Mansoori was a mechanic at Mughalpura and was known to the accused who allegedly murdered him on December 16.

Rais had allegedly shot an "objectionable" video of Alam's 30-year-old sister, some five-six years back, and was allegedly blackmailing her after her marriage, Mughalpura SHO Ajay Kumar Verma said.

On the day of the incident, the accused had asked Rais to come to his home on the pretext of fixing his inverter and allegedly hammered him to death, he added.

He also allegedly chopped off the body and dumped it into a river in the night, police said.

They added that they managed to recover parts of the body and the tools used to commit the alleged crime.

Based on a complaint by the deceased's brother, an FIR was registered and the accused was apprehended along with his suspected accomplice, Shoaib, police said.

The two accused were produced before the ACJM II court and remanded to judicial custody, they said.
