A 50-year old woman was seriously injured when a bear, which was hiding in the kitchen of her house in Arukuchi village in Nilgiris district, attacked her today.
The woman Kalaiselvi noticed the bear sleeping in he kitchen of her house. When she raised an alarm, the animal attacked her, police said.
Hearing the screams, her husband and neighbours rushed to the spot and managed to drive away the bear to jungles.
Kalaiselvi with injuries all over her body was admitted to the Govenrment Hospital here.
