A 50-year-old tribal man died after he slipped and fell from a coconut tree at a colony near Nilambur in the district today, police said.
Thandan was plucking coconuts when he fell down from the tree and sustained serious injuries, police said.
He was immediately rushed to the Kozhikode Medical College Hospital here by his relatives, but passed away this evening, Circle Inspector Muza Vallikodan said.
Asked about the reported delay in providing him medical assistance at the hospital, as telecast by some channels, he said "I have only this much information now.Investigations are going on and further details will be known only later".
