A 50-year-old woman was arrested along with her son today for allegedly attacking her other child, who married against their wishes, police said.
Shabnam and her son Jugnu were apprehended from their house in east Delhi's Ghazipur area for attempting to murder Danish (25) yesterday, a senior police officer said.
In his police complaint, Danish stated that he went to his father's place around 4 PM in Ghaziabad, where he had heated argument with his mother, the officer said.
During the argument, his two brothers came and threatened to teach him a lesson, after which his mother caught hold of his as his elder brother hit him on his head with a baton and Jugnu stabbed him on his neck, chest and other body parts, he said.
The victim claimed that his father was also injured when he tried to stop the accused from attacking him.
During interrogation of the accused, police found that Danish had married against the will of his mother and brothers and had been living separately and since then, his mother and brothers had been having enmity with him.
Danish was rushed to Lal bahadur Shastri Hospital and thereafter referred to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital, he said.
