500 women SIs to be recruited soon: Badal

These SIs would be posted in all police station across the state, he told a gathering on the occasion of Maghi Mela here.

The SAD-BJP government was committed to protect dignity and honour of women, the Chief Minister said adding in this context, directions had been issued that no woman should be called to police stations for registration of complaints.

Praising Deputy Chief Minister and his son, he said Sukhbir Singh Badal had efficiently handled affairs of the SAD.

He was capable of facing bigger challenges for overall development and welfare of the state and its people, the senior Badal said.

 

On DSGMC polls, Badal said he along with Sukhbir would camp in Delhi till the elections were over.

The Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Managemnet Committee elections are slated for January 27.

Slamming the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre, the Chief Minister alleged it had deliberately ruined the state peasantry.

The Punjab farmers were already reeling under a huge debt and denial of remunerative MSP of their produce had added to their woes, he said.

The Chief Minister asked the people to oust the UPA government in the upcoming Lok Sabha election. MORE
