All 53 departments including Department of Defence, Department of Revenue, Overseas Indian Affairs Ministry, Petroleum and Natural Gas Ministry and Rural Development Ministry among others have been issued a reminder yesterday by the DoPT to send their details at the earliest.
The Centre had in July asked all departments under it to give details within a month of implementation of various anti-corruption measures by them to further strengthen the vigilance mechanism.
Following non-compliance of its directive, the DoPT had on August 8 issued a reminder to all Ministries seeking details regarding progress on all pending disciplinary inquiries, work load and manpower deployment for vigilance work, among others.
"The departments have been asked to give details as earliest," an official said.
Only few departments including Department of Pension and Pensioners' Welfare, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Ministry of Environment and Forests, Ministry of Law and Justice (Department of Justice), Department of Personnel and Training and Department of Consumer Affairs, have so far sent the desired details.
The action (for strengthening vigilance mechanism) came following a recommendation by the Group of Ministers to check corruption which was accepted by the government. (More)
