530 MW power generation capacity added in Oct

As much as 530 MW power generation capacity were added in the month of October, including 500 MW by NTPC.

Of the total, 500 MW has been added after commissioning of a unit by NTPC in its Rihand project, an official statement said.

Besides, hydro capacity of 30 MW has been added after commissioning of Nimmo Bazgo in J&K by NHPC.

The overall generation during October, was 79,441.37 million Units (MUs) as compared to 78,526.93 MUs generation achieved during the corresponding month of the last year.

A growth of 31.57 per cent in hydro generation, 13.46 per cent in nuclear generation and 38.71 per cent in imported power from Bhutan have been achieved, it said.
 

However, a negative growth of 12.54 per cent has been noted in thermal generation in October, 2013 as compared to the corresponding month of the last year.
