54 Common Service Centres to be set up in Gurgaon

Gurgaon will get 54 Common Service Centres (CSC) that will provide services to the people in villages, including Birth and Death Certificates, electricity bills, via online.

The CSCs will be the main channel for delivery of services to the people from various departments and agencies of the state, an official spokesman said here today.

Each CSC will serve a cluster of five villages and will be operated by a private individual who will be known as Village Level Entrepreneur (VLE), he said.

Initially, the centres would provide Birth and Death registration certificates, Income certificate, House tax, Marriage Certificate, payment of electricity bills and other such services.
 

For the services provided, a nominal charge is also being approved by the state government, he said.

Some power utilities have come forward to get their metering, billing and collection services supported by the CSCs for which a nominal fees would be charged, the spokesman said.
