54 IAS officers fail to submit property return

As many as 54 IAS officers have failed to submit their Immovable Property Return (IPR) within the stipulated time, the Government said today.

"There are 54 IAS officers, whose IPRs are not uploaded on the website of Department of Personnel and Training for the year 2011 (due on January 1, 2012)," Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions V Narayanasamy said in a written reply to the Rajya Sabha.

An Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer is bound to file property returns of a year by January end of the following year, failing which promotion and empanelment to senior level postings may be denied.
 

IAS officers submit their IPRs to the respective cadre controlling State Governments who are required to upload it on the DoPT website.

Of the total of 54 officers who did not submit their IPRs, a highest of six each are of Arunachal

Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram-Union Territories (AGMUT), Chhattisgarh and Odisha cadres and five each of Madhya Pradesh and Haryana cadres, he said.

Three officials each of Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and West Bengal cadres, two each of Assam-Meghalaya, Karnataka, Manipur-Tripura, Nagaland and Tamil Nadu cadres and one each of Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Rajasthan and Sikkim cadres have not submitted their IPRs, the Minister said.
