She was responding to a starred question posed by MP Ninong Ering in the Lok Sabha.
"A total of 11 road projects are awaiting environmental clearance. 560 road projects are awaiting forest clearance," Natarajan said.
Natarajan also gave details as per which from the year 2009 to April 2012, 1283 road projects had been given final approval for forest clearance while another 638 had been given in-principle approval.
Of the 1283 final approvals given, 475 have been given to road projects in Uttarakhand alone.
The government has also in the past three years given environmental clearance to 54 road projects across the states, as per the details provided by Natarajan.
