A total of 573 personnel were today inducted into the Indian Air Force as airmen, specialising in different streams, after completion of their training at the IAF station at nearby Tambaram.
They completed their training at the Mechanical Training Institute and Workshop Training Institute inside the Air Force Station, a defence release said.
Air Commodore J J Wani, Command Engineering Officer, Headquarters Training Command reviewed the parade and handed over awards to winners in different categories.

The 'Best All-rounder Trophy' was awarded to Leading Aircraft Man (LAC) A K Yadav, Weapon Fitter of Mechanical Training Institute and Leading Aircraft man (LAC) Sandeep Kumar, Mechanical Fitter of Workshop Training Institute.
Air Commodore Rippon Gupta, Air Officer Commanding, Tambaram IAF Station, Group Captain Amit Sharma, Commanding Officer, Mechanical Training Institute and Wing Commander Asheesh Shrivastava, Commanding Officer Workshop Training Institute were also present.
