58 Indian fishermen repatriated

For the third consecutive day, Coast Guard today repatriated 58 Indian fishermen who were brought to the Indo-Sri Lankan International Maritime boundary line.

With this, 609 Indian fishermen in 118 fishing boats have been repatriated in the last three months, a Coast Guard press release said.

The 58 fishermen and 13 fishing boats were brought by 'CG Sarang' to the International Maritime boundary line.

They are expected to reach Karaikal early tomorrow morning it said.

Yesterday, Coast Guard ship 'Abheek' had taken 21 fishermen and five boats from Sri Lanka at the Indo-Sri Lanka Maritime Boundary line and 19 fishermen on March 30.
